Why are you on this earth? |
![]() |
We all ask this question at one time or another with
few, even Christians, finding the answer which the Bible make so evident. At the first
reading of the scriptures we are going to give you,we sometimes find it hard to accept the
fact that we were not created for our own pleasure. Revelation chapter 4 verse 11. This is the first verse we want to call to your attention since it pulls no punches and states the fact as it is. 11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Colossians chapter 1 verses 16 and 17. These verses in Colossians confirmed the statement in Revelation. 16: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. The following verses are the way the Prophet Isaiah expresses it. Isaiah chapter 43 verses 7 and 12 7: Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. 12: I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. Isaiah chapter 45 verse 9. 9: Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? There are many other verses in the Bible that tell us that we are here to do his will and to be witnesses to the Word of God. |
